Creating a new video game requires a lot of hard work. Developing the most exciting, challenging and playable game may take years from writers, illustrators, animators, and many others. But the launch of any new game will not happen until it has been played countless times by average people just like yourself in an effort to discover any problems or imperfections within the game. From early in the process, video game testers are employed to help ensure quality control.
The game must be played multiple times with various courses taken in order to assure that the developers have not overlooked any small detail. Video game testers are crucial in discovering problems with graphics, glitches or bugs within the game. You, too, can become a Video Game Tester if you have a console and love to play Video Games. To ensure a game is thoroughly tested, some video games require experienced testers but there are opportunities for beginners as well since novices make mistakes that more experienced players would likely avoid. This is why video game developers need gamers of all levels.

It’s important to be professional in your discussions when applying for this job.
What are the expectations of those working in video game testing ? You will receive a video game in early stage of development. It may possibly be the “alpha” or first stage or it may be in later stages of development. Along with the game, they will provide a description and instructions on what to look for and any feedback they would like to receive. Attention to detail is very important when you play.
You may discover tiny glitches in graphics or a bigger issue in which the game does not allow you to do something that it should. You will have to write a coherent, understandable description of the problem which may take several paragraphs. Of course, good grammar and proper spelling are expected.
